Wednesday – Fender Santa Ana Overdrive

Fender helped generate the classic guitar tones that inspired players to create new music, and now with the Santa Ana Overdrive, we’ve brought our expertise to stompboxes. Armed with FET technology, this pedal lets you dial in sounds varying from “just a little hairy” all the way to thick, fully saturated overdrive. The flexible tone controls unlock a wide range of sonic flavors. This pedal cleans up with the guitar’s volume control, just like our famous amplifiers.

Friday – Seymour Duncan Pickup Booster

The Pickup Booster is for when you love the sound of your guitar but you need a little more: more output, more gain or just a little more control over your guitar’s voice without changing its fundamental character. Think of it as sending your guitar to the gym.

A true-bypass pedal with a class A, low-noise circuit design, Pickup Booster can be used to dial in the tone you need for every situation. It will emphasize your guitar’s natural tone while adding some muscle and fatness. It uses a discrete push-pull output stage for increased drive capability, so even with the Gain knob down to 0dB your signal chain will sound cleaner – even with long cable runs – essentially acting as a buffer on your pedalboard.

Need a humbucker sound out of that vintage Strat? The Resonance Switch makes the pedal interact directly with your pickups, allowing your single coils to emulate either a chunky humbucker sound perfect for classic rock or blues or a high-output tone for rip-roaring solos. If you’re using humbuckers, Position 1 will give your guitar a little more ‘teeth,’ while Position 2 gives you a hint of that ‘cocked-wah’ tone filter vibe which is great for leads.

Sunday – Way Huge Green Rhino

The legendary Way Huge Green Rhino Overdrive has returned! The Mk II has all the gorgeous classic overdrive that you crave but it has evolved to include cool new features that make it even more rhinoceriffic. In addition to the Volume, Tone, and Drive controls, you get a 100Hz EQ knob to cut or boost your low end by 12dB. Your low notes can either shake the ground like a stampede across the savannah or cut through the mix like a charging rhino’s horn. This pachyderm of a pedal also sports a Curve control to fine-tune the corner frequencies of your tone. All this amazing tone shaping makes other overdrives seem boring and one-dimensional by comparison. In front of a clean amp, with the Volume and Drive set at noon, you can go from pristine purity to a punchy, dynamic rhythm tone. Set the Drive low and crank the Volume and add tons of boost to wallop the input of any amp. Turn up the Drive control with the Rhino in front of a distorted channel and hear more gain and sustain than you ever thought your amp was capable of. And no matter how you use it, the Green Rhino Overdrive Mk II will deliver clean operation, quiet relay-based true-bypass switching, and the rock-solid construction that Way Huge is famous for.
